The Westside Music Festival
On Saturday, September 24, Resolana will host its 2nd annual Westside Music Festival from noon – 6pm at 511 W. Commerce in Dallas. This family-friendly event includes music from the Mark McKenzie Quartet, Janet Davis and the Velvet Living Room, Brent Byrd, Regina Chellew, Wolf at the Door, & La Parranda Venezuela. Enjoy a silent auction with over 75 items ranging from beautifully crafted artwork from area artists and donations from area businesses, followed by a live auction of a painting created on-site by Ivonne Acero. The festival will also auction off Good Girl and Bad Girl doll sets crafted by local high-profile celebrities and organizations—come find out what our community thinks about “good” and “bad” girls. Kids will be entertained by a bounce house, hula hoop contests, face painting, storytelling, and art projects from the Dallas Museum of Art, while adults can relax with yoga sessions and chair massages. Gandolfo’s Deli will be selling food and donating a portion of their profits to Resolana. Themed as a “Celebration of Community,” the Westside Music Festival celebrates Resolana’s efforts to enable incarcerated women to share most fully and productively with our greater community. All proceeds from the Westside Music Festival benefit Resolana.
Throughout the course of the festival, certified yoga instructors who teach our Resolana yoga classes will offer a glimpse into what they teach inside the jail. Come to the other end of the festival where things are a little quieter, relax into a child’s pose, and clear your mind.
Malorie Tolles will be providing seated chair massages during the festival, with proceeds going to Resolana. Malorie’s massages can make you feel like you have taken a vacation – relaxed and refreshed with a sense of well-being — you feel: “All is right with the world.” Wouldn’t you like to relax for a little while while Malorie helps your tension and stress just melt away?

Gandolfo’s New York Deli Food Truck will be feeding the festival this year, offering beverages and a variety of deli-style sandwiches cooked to order.
We are honored to announce that Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for our 2nd annual Westside Music Festival! Sheriff Valdez is the first female elected sheriff in the state of Texas, is committed to public service, and is actively involved in promoting the advancement of women.
